Jose “Tony” González— Head Coach
Coach Jose “Tony” González, who will be entering his eighth year as coach at South Suburban, is beginning his ssecond year at the helm the women’s Soccer squad at SSC. During his tenure at the college, the SSC Men’s team has posted a 93-26-6 record, winning 74 percent of games played. Coach González has an extensive playing and coaching experience.
He played collegiate soccer for the UIC Flames and was named Academic All-Conference in 1995 while earning Soccer Student Athlete of the Year in 1997. In 2002 he also served as the top assistant at UIC. González has trained and coached players of all ages and levels. In the summer of 2003 he earned the USSF National “B” license.
Coach González is a 1997 graduate from University of Illinois at Chicago and has a Bachelors of Art in the Teaching of Spanish.
