A Sexual Assault Awareness Month Event
We need your support! Drop by the Performing Arts Center on Thursday, April 20th from 10:00 am – 1:30 pm with your friends and take part in various activities while enjoying snacks and a beverage. You are welcome to participate in any or all of the following:
- Clothesline Activity: – Create your own paper t-shirt with a message of hope to sexual assault survivors then add your creation to our makeshift clothesline! Paper, markers and other crafts will be available for use.
- Presentation by SSC Police Department (10:30 am): – Learn how to keep yourself safe using practical self-defense strategies.
- Student Panel Discussion on Dating Violence & Sexual Assault (12:00 pm): – Join students Blessing Atobatele, Synomi Hatley, Miyah Hinton and Iyanna Constant as they discuss the rise of sexual assaults against college students and how YOU can take part in ending the violence!
- Take the “Start by Believing” Pledge: – Write out your pledge then take a photo to be uploaded to SSC social media.
- Interact with our community partners YWCA and Anew: “Building Beyond Violence & Abuse”– Learn about resources available to those who are dealing with dating/domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking.
